Questions for You

Q: What areas of Chemistry do you specialize in, and what level of Chemistry do you usually teach?

I specialize in teaching biochemistry, organic chemistry, and inorganic chemistry. I usually teach at the University level (tertiary education).

Q: What types of resources or technology do you use to support your Chemistry lessons?

I support lessons with YouTube videos and take home worksheets.

Q: How do you approach teaching Chemistry concepts to students who may struggle with Chemistry?

I usually connect chemistry concepts with media that is familar to the student (e.g. memes) which makes it easier for them to understand and remember.

Q: Do you have experience with laboratory experiments, and how do you incorporate these into your Chemistry lessons?

I have extensive experience with laboratory experiments as I have previously taught chemistry laboratory classes, not to mention that I have wet lab research experience. Some concepts in chemistry are better appreciated with a hands-on approach.

Q: What is your approach to teaching organic chemistry, and how do you make the subject engaging and accessible for students?

Organic chemistry is better learned through visual means and it can be made more engaging and accessible by using a medium that most students of today are very familiar with - memes and fun anecdotes.

Q: How do you help students prepare for chemistry competitions, college applications, or other academic opportunities in chemistry?

Preparation for chemistry competitions requires familiarization with the rapid question-and-answer environment intrinsic to it, so we will do rapid fire Q and A sessions with a focus on honing their test taking skills.
