Questions for You

Q: What materials or resources do you provide to help students succeed in computer science?

I provide written and video materials to guide students through their learnings.

Q: What programming languages are you proficient in?

Primarily Python, but can also tutor javascript.

Q: What tools or software do you use to teach computer science lessons?

For Python Programming, I use Pycharm as my IDE. The specific other tools depends on what we are building.

Q: How do you handle students who are struggling with specific topics or concepts in computer science?

I am a patient tutor. I meet students where they are, take the time and try and explain concepts in ways that are contextually relevant to them.

Q: How do you balance teaching theoretical concepts with practical application in computer science?

I try and uses Blooms taxanomy, where each lesson has both concept and application.

Q: Can you provide any examples of projects or assignments that you assign to students during computer science lessons?

We do exercises like below: """ ATM Pin Checker You are creating an application, that checks for the ATM pin for a card If the user enters incorrect pin 3 times, it gives the message "Incorrect pin!!" If the user gets the right pin, it responds by saying "Verified" Declare a variable called user_pin and put some pin into it. The pin should be an integer Using a while loop, keep asking the user (3 times) for the right pin. If the user gives the right pin, print the verified message. If the user has not entered the right pin 3 times and loop has ended, print error. """

Q: How do you handle difficult questions or topics that may arise during computer science lessons?

If I know the answer, I will try and patiently break it down. If not, I will prepare and come back with a strong lesson.

Q: Can you provide any guidance on career opportunities or paths related to computer science?

Yes. Computer Science is a broad field and students can go into hardware technologies, software building, networking etc. Really depends on the needs of the student.
