I am an experienced teacher with 33 years of service, teaching Math, Science, and English at Socorro National High School, DepEd Siargao (1987–2019).

Some of my achievements include:

- Consistently winning coach in Math Olympiad and MTAP (1987–2019)
- Winning coach in the Division Schools Press Conference—Campus Journalism (2004–2005)
- Winning coach in the Division Science Investigatory Project (2013)
- Winning coach in chess events at both division and regional meets
- Early retirement as Master Teacher II in July 2019

Based on my experience, many of my previously naughty and mischievous learners have changed for the better because of my unique classroom management style. A practical work approach is the best track. I will give trial and practice exercises, followed by the relevant concepts and theories, and then provide more examples to enhance the best learning outcomes. For example, as Garry White told us in our seminar workshop, an Australian in Cebu City in 1991, he tracked how many pieces of matchsticks were on the table. No one could answer at first, but finally, someone discovered that his ten fingers were the clue. It was a matter of using a game and observation technique—that is how math lessons are effectively taught. Read less
