Hi! I’m Thanatip, a US-educated physics tutor based in Bangkok, specializing in IB Physics, IB Mathematics (particularly Analysis & Approaches HL), and university-level physics and mathematics.
I recently graduated from Concordia College in Minnesota with a B.A. in Physics, earning Departmental Honors and induction into Sigma Pi Sigma, the U.S. national physics honor society. Although Mathematics is officially my minor, I pursued a double major in Physics and Mathematics until my senior year, so my coursework and proficiency are effectively equivalent to those of a full mathematics major. I’m just as confident teaching advanced mathematics as I am physics.
My senior thesis focused on quantum tunneling, an experience that taught me how to break down genuinely difficult concepts into ideas that beginners can understand clearly. That same philosophy shapes my tutoring approach: meeting students where they are and helping them build the intuition and problem-solving skills needed to tackle exam questions independently and confidently.
One thing that sets me apart is my computational background. I work fluently with Python and MATLAB, allowing me to support students not only conceptually, but also in applying physics and mathematics through coding. This is especially valuable for IB Internal Assessments involving data analysis, university lab reports, and computational physics coursework — an area many tutors cannot confidently teach.
Subjects I Tutor:
• IB Physics (SL & HL)
• IB Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches HL (my specialty), AA SL, and Applications & Interpretation (SL & HL)
• University-level Physics: Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Mechanics, and Thermodynamics
• University-level Mathematics: Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations
• Python and MATLAB for scientific computing
My Teaching Style:
Patient, structured, and concept-focused. I believe physics and mathematics are not about memorizing formulas, but about understanding why things work the way they do. Once that understanding clicks, strong exam performance follows naturally. I tailor each session to the student’s curriculum, goals, and pace, using plenty of worked examples and guided practice.
Sessions are conducted in English, either in person around Bangkok or online. Whether you’re aiming for a 7 in IB Physics or AA HL, preparing for university entrance exams, or trying to survive your first year of university physics, I’d be happy to help. Read less

I start every new student with a short diagnostic to identify exactly where the gaps are—often, it’s not the current topic but a foundation from a year ago. From there, sessions follow a 'concept first, then problems' structure: I explain the underlying intuition, work through an example together, and then hand the problem-solving over to the student while I provide guidance. For IB students, I integrate past papers and mark scheme analysis early on. Read less
