He has more than 10 years of administration, teaching and research experience in the field of health and disease. Dr. Shahid has published more than 45 research papers in journals of international repute, supervised 4 PhD and 11 MSc students in the field of health and disease and has presented his research work in more than 60 national and international conferences, symposia and seminars.

I grew up in New York and worked at a zoo throughout high school, where I developed a keen interest in animal behavior and the life sciences. I attended Cornell University, where I studied neurobiology and evolutionary biology. I then came to Hong Kong, where I worked as an ecologist and later completed my PhD at the University of Hong Kong in public health and virology. I continue to work in Hong Kong as a postdoctoral fellow, conducting research related to infection and immunology. My range of experiences has highlighted the interconnectedness between the many fields of biology and life sciences. I can readily draw examples and comparisons to aid in teaching new subject matter, as well as to build strong foundations across the sciences. I am based in Sai Ying Pun, but happy to travel around Hong Kong for in-person tutoring. I am also happy to conduct online lessons.
