Experienced mathematics tutor with experience teaching primary and secondary school students. Currently, I have two Secondary 2 students and one Secondary 3 student. My Secondary 3 student obtained an A1 in her Secondary 2 End-of-Year exam and has chosen to take up Additional Mathematics and Elementary Mathematics for her O-Level exams. I am available for group tutoring, with a maximum of three students, at either my house or the tutee's house.

I am an experienced AI/Machine Learning Engineer who graduated from Yale with a Bachelor of Science in 2015. I want to teach Mathematics and introductory low level programming in C. I teach in Kowloon area in Mong Kok, and am well-equipped to host online lessons as well, with a virtual-black board program, writing pad, and zoom/skype/discord/teams/whatever-video-call-platform-you-like. I've interviewed enough job candidates with stellar transcripts and no actual knowledge to realize that simply studying for tests is not enough. The education systems in place today do not produce good mathematicians and engineers -- those who succeed do so in spite of these systems. I want to do my part to fix this systemic educational problem, by reaching out to younger kids to encourage them to not just chase grades, but to achieve true mathematical enlightenment, and to start building things from scratch by themselves. I want them to focus on real-world problems, and to grapple with their intricacies until they themselves find the solutions. I don't want kids to grow into adults who believe that "somebody smarter than them will take care of the details" (which is how most programming is done these days sadly), I want kids who will grow up to be the people who solve those problems, and I'm confident that I can empower young students with potential to solve the complex problems facing the world today without needing to rigidly follow dogmatic "best-practices."

Hello, my name is Mashael Fakhro. I have an irrational passion for math, possibly due to the positive reinforcement of answering questions correctly, the joy of seeing patterns that were once hidden, and the purity and elegance of a language which can get us closer to discerning what's true from what isn't, in a world with quite a bit of deception. My training includes IB HL Math, an Applied Math BA at Harvard University (2011), 4 years of math tutoring for ages 6-14 and a Montessori diploma for ages 3-6. I'm specifically interested in working with individuals who would benefit from a conversational, intuitive and visual approach, and who like to be engaged during sessions, such as through using playing cards or asking questions. I look forward to sharing the gift that I have been given to help others on their life paths. I also work in the field of wellbeing (with flower essences) and wish children and students a non-traumatizing education process. I hope I can assist them on their journeys.
