I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in high school, with my Higher Levels being Math AA, English, and Computer Science. I graduated with a final grade of 40/45. English is my first language, and I can adapt my teaching to meet the personal needs of each student. Hello, there! I am Merian from Davao City. Teaching Math subject is not that easy because not everyone is fond of this subject. But I want to tell you something; you might probably notice that math is not all about numbers, but about how you will be able to cope with a solution to a problem. It is like practicing your mind to become wise, as I believe life is like a game, so as Math. As a tutor, I am dedicated and passionate about teaching those children who are not fond of this subject. My goal is not to show everyone that I am good, but to share and help is enough.

I am a CS PhD student at NUS, specializing in theoretical and algorithmic aspects of machine learning. I have an MSc in Maths and a BSc in CS and Maths. I have been a TA and private tutor for university level maths/CS since 2017. The subjects that I usually teach are proof-based maths (e.g., linear algebra, analysis, abstract algebra) or math-heavy ML/DS (optimization, advanced ML). I used to be active in mathematics and algorithms competitions many years ago, and would be happy to coach motivated primary and high school students. I am based in the Sengkang area, but I am happy to commute.
