Online Geometry Tutors across the globe

I have started teaching when I passed my grade 10 final exams. I have started giving tuition with grade 9 and grade 10 students with maths and science.

I have been told by many students that I make learning fun. I appreciate that they feel that way but I don't really agree. I think learning itself is fun and I just help students to see that. I take great satisfaction in watching students feel proud of themselves as they master a topic that had been challenging for them. I want students to see the joy they can take in learning. After having taught at the collegiate level for over 20 years (I taught philosophy, religious studies, humanities, and English), at, among other places, one of the best honors colleges in the country (I taught numerous students who went on to become Rhodes Scholars), I taught mathematics at the secondary level for the last three years. Now I want to be a stay-at-home dad while still keeping a foot in education, since I truly have a passion for it and have devoted my professional life to it. I enjoy working with all students but I especially want to encourage athletes. I taught many student athletes (some who have gone on to the NFL) and I was also the long distance track coach at my previous school and enjoy running myself. I appreciate the discipline it takes to excel in athletics and academics.

Hello! I'm a high school senior in the Northern Viriginia Falls Church area, and I'm interested in tutoring students to help with school curriculum work, AP courses and exams, and SAT exams. I have several years of volunteer experience at tutoring organizations, and paid tutoring service experience at my school. I have experience in tutoring all ages, from elementary to high school students. I follow a strict reading and problem set homework, review and new information lesson plan I hope my students will follow to best support their studies. I will use Google Docs to set up a homework schedule and will provide my own version of shortened notes and solutions for problem sets.

I earned a masters in teaching mathematics at the secondary level in 2018, specializing in diversifying instruction to meet diverse learning needs. If you hate math, I'm your teacher. I have an extensive background in art, music, physics and many unusual life experiences that allow me to relate the many ways that math makes life more beautiful, more powerful, and more amazing! Math has a bad reputation but in my experience, the right attitude, the right teacher, and the right applications make all the difference. I teach solving systems of linear equations by racing remote controlled cars, quadratic equations with catapults, statistics with cookie stacking contests, and geometry with patterns and design. Mathematics is the language of the universe, and once you learn to speak it, you will begin to see it everywhere. Becoming better at math won't only raise your grades, either; learning how to use logic, solve problems, balance equations, draw angles and connect ideas will strengthen your mind in general and make you a better thinker overall. Like working out in a gym makes your whole body stronger, practicing mathematics will make your whole brain smarter and more efficient, whether or not you think you'll ever use it in "real life." You don't go to the gym to become an awesome leg-lifter; but strengthening your legs makes you better at everything that uses legs. Likewise, learning math strengthens your brain and makes you better at everything that uses it! I have a soft spot for people with math anxiety, learning challenges, behavioral issues, and diverse needs. There are many, many ways to teach and learn math, but most schools are limited to a few spread across a large class. In tutoring, I can tailor my teaching to meet your specific needs.
