Hi. My name is Taruna. I am a medical student and part-time tutor. I started tutoring my peers 5 years ago after sixth form (A levels) and decided to become an online tutor shortly after. I aim to make maths fun and simple for students of all ages and learning styles. Having worked with students of various backgrounds, I am able to adapt well to the needs of each learner and help them achieve their goals.

I am a hard-working, motivated individual. I believe my consistent placement in the top ten in my grade each year of high school is a testament to my academic ability. In addition, I have attained full Academic Colours throughout my senior phase of high school and matriculated with distinctions for all seven of my subjects, including Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Accounting. I am a dynamic person who thrives on academic challenge and, as such, has been exposed to various facets of scholastic life. I have enthusiastically participated in many Mathematics Olympiads, competitions and challenges. My research project on animal magnetoreception won a medal in the Eskom Science Expo, and my science essay received an award in the Royal Schools National Science Essay Competition. My experience ranges from a babysitter and volunteer Sunday school teacher, to a tutor of students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, and manager of a tutoring company, achieved whilst completing my degree in Politics and Anthropology. These experiences have grown my patience, perseverance, and willingness to be creative with teaching methods. I enjoy teaching as much as I enjoy learning, and I eagerly embrace challenges and opportunities to help people.
