Hello! I am an experienced Head of Department and Online Tutor based in the UK, specializing in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at GCSE, and Biology and Physics at A-level. Despite my lack of teaching experience at the time, my passion for Physics, for inspiring student learning, use of real-life applications, and focus on exam technique showed that I was the right person for the job. My dedication to raising the profile and attainment of Physics, not only in my own lessons but in the wider department, resulted in my official promotion to Head of Physics. In this capacity, I continued to drive progress throughout the department through the sharing of best practice with non-specialist teachers and the department as a whole. As well as improving academic progress each year, I developed the school’s STEM opportunities through extracurricular Crest awards and organized a residential trip to CERN in Geneva, where students had the opportunity to see one of the particle accelerators up close. My success in inspiring students and colleagues alike and my continued improvement in student academic progress saw me promoted to Head of Science the following year.
