I have worked across all key stages and with a variety of needs including autism (including Pathological Demand Avoidance), ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and global development delay. I can work on curriculum subjects as well as fine motor skills, social skills, and memory. My students and I have had many significant successes, the most significant being when I helped a child become a fluent reader after only reading CVC words. Other successes include improvements in times tables, number ability, comprehension, and spelling skills. Above all the academic successes my students and I have had, I am well-liked by my students and they are always happy. I have worked across all key stages in a variety of schools and in some cases in two different key stages at the same time, providing support, teaching on a 1-to-1 basis, in group settings, and occasionally with whole classes. I have worked with children with a variety of needs including global developmental delay, Autism Spectrum, ADHD, Dyspraxia, and Dyslexia, but I am particularly passionate about working with students who have special needs and challenging behavior. I have been praised by my mentors and Vice Principal for my work in this area. In my current post, I have gained experience using PIVATs 5 and Klips through discussion and offering my input for planning lessons independently.
