My lessons are tailored to students' musical tastes and needs as I specialize in most genres. I teach both acoustic and electric guitar, and offer lessons in contemporary and classical piano.

Hello! My name is Bjørk and I’m a professional double bass player living and teaching here in Amsterdam. I have two diplomas in Jazz Bass from Sweden and a degree in Jazz Bass Performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I love teaching, and I have been teaching since 2016. I love the bass! I teach double bass, electric bass, composition, improvisation, and music theory. I have experience teaching complete beginners with zero prior musical knowledge to more advanced players. I have also taught students online. I believe that every student is different, and I always customize and adapt my lessons to your needs and your goals. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what those are yet; we can figure it out together! As I see it, music and learning should be fun! Of course, it’s challenging at times, but we will focus on what you feel passionate about and see what works best for you. Even though I specialize in jazz, I have played many genres, and we can cover anything you want. Pop, rock, punk, indie, world music/folk, funk, or any other genre you are interested in. I also offer band coaching if you have a band that you want to play with. I always offer a free trial lesson of 30 minutes, so we can get to know each other and talk about your interests and goals before diving into it. Relevant info for double bass students: Bringing your instrument to the lesson is not strictly necessary. We can use my instrument in the lesson. Used to be a conservatory guitar teacher. I've been working in cruise ships playing guitar music. A lot of experience in teaching guitar music from Pop to Classical and other contemporary music.
