Hello! My name is Roxy and two of my favourite things are languages and learning with my students. I have been an ESL instructor for 3 years and my goal is to make English as relevant and as interesting to you as possible. I try to achieve this by keeping the subjects in line with your own interests and unique abilities, and through this, we learn together.
I am bilingual with English and Afrikaans and have a background in foreign language acquisition and translation through studying French.
I take great care with my student's progress as I am a compassionate and hard-working individual with a creative vision. I structure my lessons based on a need's analysis for each student so that your lesson can be fruitful to you.

Being in a classroom provides greater inter-personal skills; I am intuitive and can personalise topics. Once the material is personalised I believe it is easier for students to understand and have effective learning thereon.
Each student has different learning styles so it is necessary to explore between methods. This varies between didactic teaching (engagement; instruction/framework then practice) and a learner discovery approach (practice; engage then instruct) while encouraging progress. Read less
