Several of my students are from Beijing and Tianjin, and they can teach in fluent Mandarin. They receive 3 to 6 lessons a week. In addition to tutoring primary and secondary school students in subjects such as mathematics and English, I also tutor adults in oral English, business document writing and review, business planning, and some university business/IT related subjects for homework and article writing.
Many students preparing for IELTS and TOEFL struggle with understanding English "reading" and "writing" problems due to their limited vocabulary or lack of understanding of the correct word usage. It is also challenging for them to express their thoughts and ideas accurately. The initial step in my tutoring method is to determine the study direction based on the limited time available.
I have been teaching students with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for many years. Through observing their behavior in class and communicating with their parents, I have gained valuable experience in understanding the reasons behind their lack of engagement, non-participation, daydreaming, unhappiness, temper outbursts, and tendency to mimic others' words enthusiastically. I have also learned to patiently guide and alleviate their negative emotions, as well as finding alternative ways to recapture their attention in the classroom and ensure the completion of their daily homework and revision. When it comes to students who are considered autistic by doctors, I have found that some of them can be quite talkative as long as the topic is something they are interested in.
In 2017 and 2018, I had the opportunity to assist a student I was tutoring in GMAT Math and Kellogg HKUST EMBA admissions essay. He holds a BBA degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, USA. I helped him navigate through the new subject courses of Fintech and Artificial Intelligence offered by Oxford and the Provincial Institute of Technology respectively. Each week, I guided him in completing around 6 to 10 questions, resulting in approximately 3,000 words (approximately 5-8 pages) of homework. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to teach him how to complete his assignments while simultaneously learning new materials every week. Read less

My approach will depend on the student’s needs and learning style. However, my teaching is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. Read less
