Hi!
My name is Melissa, and I am a certified teacher in two Canadian provinces. I have taught grades 5-12, specializing in English/language arts and French Immersion subjects such as sciences humaines and français.

I have been teaching for over 8 years and have worked across Canada, from the east to the west coast, as well as in several Indigenous communities.

Currently, I am based in Newfoundland, Canada!

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English/French and a Bachelor of Education in Intermediate/Secondary Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Additionally, I am pursuing a Masters of Education in Reading Development & Instruction. Helping people learn to read is my utmost passion, and I hope to continue working as a literacy and reading specialist in the future.

I have two puppies who mean the world to me, and I love taking them for walks outside. Furthermore, I enjoy coffee and spending quality time with my family. Read less

I love working with new technologies and differentiating my instruction for the different types of learners I teach. I have previously worked with students who had learning disorders and issues with reading. I like to make my students feel comfortable enough to make mistakes while learning. Additionally, I strive to spice up my lessons by incorporating different resources and technologies, which help me stay current and connected with my students. Read less
