I use a structure based approach to writing: 1. Establish the context and purpose. 2. Supply the templates for answering different question types. 3. Guide students through the structure. 4. View examples. 5. Build responses using outline templates I have designed, depending on the requirements of the task. 6. Move step by step. 7. Provide rubric based feedback and editing key-based corrections on grammar, punctuation, and style. 8. Allow time for re-drafting. 9. Conduct evaluation and assessment. 10. Proceed to a higher level task.

Q: How do you help students with grammar, spelling, and punctuation?

1. I teach key grammar fuctions that most students are challenged by. 2. I have designed an academic editing program that displays errors in grammar, punctuation and spelling with links to lessons on each function. 3. Students attempt to self correct their errors first, according to the editing suggestions. 4. We review all errors together before I give further instruction and assistance on corrections before submitting final draft.

Q: What is your approach to teaching reading, and how do you help students improve their reading comprehension skills?

1. First, I establish each student's reading level or Reading Lexile. 2. Then, I provide enjoyable reading material targeted at the student's individual level that is challenging but not overwhelming. 3. Reading is best improved by reading both fiction (novels, plays, poetry) and nonfiction (news, opinion, and informative articles). 4. I place strong emphasis on both reading comprehension and fluency. 5. I assist students to respond to the reading material using critical thinking skills in discussions and writing task. 6. Finally, I assess the student's comprehension of reading with targeted questions. 7. Finally, we solve any misunderstandings or errors. 8. Then, we proceed to a higher level and continue.,

Q: How do you help students with literary analysis and critical thinking skills?

1. I have fully designed programs that can be specifically customized to any fiction or nonfiction test the student is studying. 2. These reading programs are also linked to vovabulary development and structured level-based writing response programs. 3. I encourage students to responding critically to the literature on the key themes and critical thinking areas through research and discussion. 4. This culminates in writing responses to these key critical thinking questions. 5. We consistently review and improve undestanding together, and students learn to analyze literature and link the themes to global and community issues.

Examples, modeling, and practice improve fluency and clarity.

Once again, I use a structured approach appropriate to the purpose. In addition to organisation, confidence, and fluency, speakers need to be able to connect with the audience effectively and make a significant impact.

Yes. I have been doing this for 25 years. I know all of the common grammar pitfalls and how to solve the challeges. In addition, I have links to guided lessons for self learning and checking.

I provide students with a structure to work within that allows them to feel more confident one step at a time. In addition, I have a lot of patience. I do not pressure students, but instead I set achievable targets that require an appropriate amount of effort to reach.
