Finding a tutor is no easy feat. Coming from someone who had a different learning style than many of my classmates, I always thought it would be impossible to find someone who could tutor me, so I never tried, but I should have. I absolutely commend you for getting this far and searching for someone who can help you out and help you gain more confidence in the subject that you've been struggling in.
For the past ten years, I've been coaching, mentoring, and tutoring students, friends, and children I've babysat for. Throughout my time, I've found three important qualities that I think are essential for tutoring: dedication, patience, and understanding.
Each individual has a different background, personality, and learning style. In order for me to give my best to each student, I take the time to get to know them--truly learning what they need and want to get out of each session.
By adapting my teaching style to each person, I've found that my clients can appreciate the subject more, are able to relate certain things to their own life for better understanding, and walk away with more confidence.
I know what it feels like to struggle in a subject and not feel heard or understood. It can be an awful feeling, so I hope I'll be able to help you.
As a published author and Master's student in Creative Writing, I look forward to getting to know you and help you on your journey through your education. Read less

My teaching method is all about getting to know each individual student. Whether the tutoring is for vocabulary, reading comprehension, or writing expression, there is always a way to relate that back to the student. Is the student struggling with a novel that's boring for class? What life events can they connect with in the novel? Maybe vocabulary isn't sticking, how can the vocabulary be used to relate to every day things they talk about? There's always a method, it just takes some patience. Read less
