Questions for You

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Math concepts and solve problems?

I use practice problems because maths is a practice-based subject and can't necessarily be "read". I use quizzes to first see at what level the student is at and what they struggle with then I teach the using a hands on approach with lors of practice problems.

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

Yes. I use whatsapp to communicate with students and I use both google meets and teams for online lessons. I use an ipad which allows recording and giving students the slides.

Q: What Math topics or concepts are you particularly skilled in teaching, and how do you keep up to date with changes in the curriculum?

Algebra and calculus are my strong points because I did them at universirt level and tutored them as well. I always check the syllabus yearly at most so that I know of any changes. I also enquire with teachers.

Q: How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and any challenges they may be facing in learning Math?

I usually send in a monthly update of how lessons have been going and then give them my suggestions on how we can move going forward if need be.

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials to supplement your lessons, such as practice exercises or online tutorials?

Yes. I have many different resources and also make my own as well.

Q: What is your approach to homework assignments, and how do you ensure students understand the concepts covered in class?

I give students the chance to attempt the question so that I where they are going wrong, this way they can better understand my corrections.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure that your teaching approach is compatible with the student's learning style?

I use the first few lessons to assess the student's learning style and the specifc help they need and then adapt my lessons to suit them.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, and how do you adapt your teaching methods to accommodate their needs?

An understanding of their specific needs allows me to tailor my lessons to their learning style. All students require teachers to adjust their methods to accommodate them. Similarly, these students will also need adjustments, though different from those of a typical student.
