Hi, I'm Dr. Schwarz! I hold the position of an associate professor of mathematics at a university in the United States. I am currently living in Hong Kong for the summer and seeking students who are interested in tutoring.

After completing my mathematics PhD, I have been teaching at the university level for over 10 years. The courses I primarily teach are first-year classes such as Precalculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and I regularly teach Linear Algebra as well. Regardless of the course, I use a hands-on approach that starts with calculations to help students understand main ideas and concepts.

I always keep in mind the important questions of "why are we learning this?" and "what is the significance of this and where is it applied?" I strive to answer these questions for my students because I believe it helps motivate them and enables them to make conceptual connections. Read less
