Questions for You

Q: What areas of Chemistry do you specialize in, and what level of Chemistry do you usually teach?

I specialize in General Chemistry and I teach all levels from beginner to university level students.

Q: What types of resources or technology do you use to support your Chemistry lessons?

I have several electronic books and online lab.

Q: How do you approach teaching Chemistry concepts to students who may struggle with Chemistry?

I don't think one will struggle as long as he/she will cooperate with the learning process. I teach the easiest way possible but not sacrificing the quality of the lessons.

Q: Do you have experience with laboratory experiments, and how do you incorporate these into your Chemistry lessons?

Yes I have. Those experiments helps me in explaining the principles and theories of Chemistry.

Q: What is your approach to teaching organic chemistry, and how do you make the subject engaging and accessible for students?

When teaching organic chemistry, I like to start with the basics: understanding the structure of organic compounds and the principles governing their behavior. I use visual aids like molecular models to help students grasp complex concepts like bonding and stereochemistry. I also emphasize the importance of mechanisms, showing how reactions proceed step-by-step. To keep things engaging, I use real-world examples and applications, showing students how organic chemistry relates to everyday life, from pharmaceuticals to materials science. I encourage active learning through problem-solving exercises and group discussions, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject.

Q: How do you help students prepare for chemistry competitions, college applications, or other academic opportunities in chemistry?

To prepare students for chemistry competitions, college applications, or other academic opportunities, I focus on three key areas: knowledge mastery, problem-solving skills, and confidence-building. Firstly, I ensure students have a strong grasp of fundamental concepts and principles by reviewing key topics and providing targeted practice questions. I also introduce advanced topics and cutting-edge research to broaden their understanding. Secondly, I emphasize problem-solving strategies, teaching students how to approach different types of questions efficiently and effectively. We work through challenging problems together, breaking them down step-by-step and discussing different approaches. Lastly, I help students build confidence by providing positive reinforcement, constructive feedback, and opportunities for success. I encourage them to participate in chemistry-related activities such as research projects, science fairs, and internships to deepen their understanding and passion for the subject. By focusing on these areas, students are well-equipped to excel in chemistry competitions, college applications, and beyond.
