I'm Jasmin, a 27-year-old Mathematics tutor. I live in Woodstock, but I am willing to travel to teach. I have two degrees, one in economics, philosophy, and politics, and a second diploma in Teaching for Mathematics and History. I have tutored a grade 9 student previously, and we were able to elevate her mark to a passable rate in just two months together. I am passionate about pedagogy, learning how people learn, and I enjoy watching people problem solve in their unique ways. I am practising the art of guiding and facilitating someone in figuring out the answers and the ways to find an answer, rather than being completely directive. I want them to remember mathematics for years to come, and not just rote learn to pass an exam. I believe understanding the language of mathematics can change the way you see the world, and having confidence to problem solve mathematical equations can give you confidence in your other abilities.

I am mostly qualified to teach up to Grade 10 mathematics, and I am better at helping people understand the foundational concepts upon which the entire language is built. Read less

My teaching methodology is dependent on the person I am working with, I am open to listening and understanding what someone needs. I use online games and puzzles to find the gaps in knowledge, and then depending on where the gaps are, we can work on them in ways that suit the student. If we want to spend time outside observing, especially when thinking about patterns or area and perimeter there's fun ways to do that outside in their environment. Read less
