Hey! I'm a PhD researcher natively from the UK in computational neuroscience (with a background in engineering).

I cover the fundamentals of programming for total beginners, with either Python or MATLAB, using interactive demos. I'm also happy to support learning computer science for GCSEs to more advanced projects.

I have 7+ years programming experience and 2+ years teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as internship experience teaching at secondary levels.

My teaching philosophy engages students’ needs and backgrounds to help them reach their learning goals.

This involves having an in-depth discussion with the student about what subject areas they are confident in, and what areas they are struggling with.

Following this, I'll motivate students by relating topics to their interests, and deliver custom demos to explain concepts in an approachable way using live scripts and data visualisations to help develop coding intuition. Read less
