Hello! My name is Audrey 津兒 and I grew up bilingually, speaking both Cantonese and English since I was a child. I started learning German when I was 12, and have been speaking and actively using German for the past 4.5 years. I am currently majoring in Japanese Studies and psychology at the University of Vienna, Austria, and therefore, would prefer online lessons, as I am only in Hong Kong until March (for semester break).

I love learning languages and regularly teach English and Chinese every week in Vienna, using English and German as mediums of instruction. I take great joy in passing on my knowledge and love discovering new ways of thinking through teaching. My students often inspire me in ways I never thought possible.

Apart from university and tutoring, I enjoy painting, reading, and socializing with friends. I am currently learning French and Japanese and understand the difficulty of learning a different language. I have a good feel for languages and am confident in helping my students make connections between concepts to help them understand new knowledge better, instead of forcing them to memorize details. I regularly give small homework exercises and encourage my students to motivate themselves to learn. I always encourage my students to pronounce and formulate sentences themselves, and help them build their own vocabulary through active participation.
