I am Jayson Benoza De Asis, a licensed professional teacher from the Philippines with 19 years of experience teaching English to diverse age groups, including children, teenagers, and adults. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Major in English), I am dually certified as a teacher in both the Philippines and Thailand. I also have certifications, including a 120-hour TESOL/TEFL accreditation, a 60-hour TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) certificate, and a 70-hour TEAL (Teaching English to Adult Learners) credential.
I currently teach middle and high school English language at a private school in Bangkok. I previously taught at a leading primary government school bilingual program in Bangkok for 6 years, where I was featured on Thailand National TV (MCOT HD LIVE Channel 30) during an actual classroom teaching in October 2020.
Recently, World TESOL Academy interviewed me about my teaching experience back home and in Thailand, where they posted it on their website. My heart is filled with gratitude for sharing my fulfilling experiences and giving tips and insights into being an effective ESL teacher to inspire new and seasoned educators. I am so grateful for this experience.
My teaching philosophy is that a classroom should be a safe and caring community where learners can speak their minds, discover, and amplify their gifts, talents, and abilities. I will use strategies to ensure our classroom is a positive and warm community where everybody is respected and gives respect to each other, and to bring out the highest expectations for my students. I am passionate about fostering growth in students of all ages and backgrounds, from children to young adults. My ultimate goal is to share my compassion, enthusiasm, dedication, and adaptability, qualities honed through the years of my teaching, to make a meaningful, positive impact at your institution.
