I have had many years of experience as a teacher and tutor. My passion is English literature (I have co-authored study guides/workbooks for grade 12). I love the challenge of helping students understand and enjoy poetry, Shakespeare, and other aspects of the curriculum. I often make use of illustrations, especially when teaching poetry, as it contributes to understanding imagery. I am good at summarizing the most important points of the poems or plays being studied. I have assisted non-English home language students in achieving good results. I am flexible and able to understand the needs of the student, adapting my teaching style according to their needs. I use past papers for revision to help students gain confidence in answering questions. Read less
