Questions for You

Q: What age range of students do you usually work with?

Any age!

Q: How do you approach lesson planning and preparation?

I like to custom my material according to the person's needs, hence the free lesson to understand more about the potential student.

Q: How do you measure progress and assess learning outcomes for your students?

Just as in architecture schools, we would create a project together and I would hold ''desk critics'' to evaluate the progress of the student.

Q: Do you provide regular homework and assignments, and how do you review and provide feedback on student work?

Only the project itself, seeing progress of their understanding of the lessons through their project would be a good indicator.

Q: What technology or resources do you use to enhance your lessons, particularly for online sessions?

For online sessions, I use Zoom with screen sharing to walk through design concepts and sketches. I also use tools like Google Drive or dropbox to share reference materials and student work. For more technical lessons, I incorporate basic walkthroughs of software such as AutoCAD or Rhino, depending on the student’s level. I like to keep sessions interactive with visual examples and live demonstrations to support learning.

Q: Do you provide any additional support outside of scheduled lesson times, such as answering questions via email or phone?

Yes! I would gladly answer any questions through whatsapp or email within reason.

Q: Do you have any specific strategies for motivating students who may be struggling or disengaged with the subject material?

Yes, I focus on creating a safe space to make mistakes, especially important in a subject like architecture, where creativity and critique go hand-in-hand. I break down complex topics into smaller steps and use visual aids or real-life examples to make the material relatable. I also try to connect the lesson to the student’s own interests, which helps re-ignite curiosity and motivation.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning differences or special needs?

At the moment, I do not have direct experience working with students with learning differences or special needs. However, I am open and willing to adapt my teaching style to be inclusive and supportive.
