My experience with mathematics goes a long way, spanning about 15 years of teaching it in various school settings. I have taught learners in primary, secondary, and high school, as well as those aspiring to become mathematics teachers in tertiary institutions in and around Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal.
I firmly believe that to master mathematics, one must be free both inside and out, unafraid to ask for clarification when unsure and willing to apply their own understanding without fear of making mistakes.
Mathematics is all about comprehension. Once you understand the problem at hand, you can effectively work towards finding a solution. To this end, I have developed my own special techniques and methods over the years to help students master the subject, ensuring that each lesson covers all the necessary concepts to enhance understanding.
I strive to make mathematics easy to understand by using simple English, speaking clearly and loudly, and creating an enjoyable and fun learning environment to foster a love for the subject. I constantly assess my students to gauge their understanding, strengths, and weaknesses, allowing us to address any challenges effectively.
To be successful in mathematics, it is essential to believe in yourself, be honest, loyal, active, and diligent in practice. It is important to be comfortable with yourself and your surroundings and not hesitate to put your understanding into practice. Remember, mathematics is not just about numbers, formulas, or theorems; it is about truly grasping concepts and understanding their applications. Read less

I do class presentations with them, as we note down all important techniques, strategies, and when to use them. Therefore, having a summary of our own on things to know in that lesson.
We end with applying the knowledge we have gained in our class presentation, where we work out problems, analyzing each problem with its step-by-step workings. Read less
