I teach math by focusing on understanding concepts before procedures, using clear explanations, visual representations, and real-world examples. I model problem-solving step by step, then guide students as they practice, encouraging them to explain their thinking and learn from mistakes. By asking guiding questions and revisiting key ideas regularly, I help students build confidence, accuracy, and strong problem-solving skills.
I have experience using online teaching platforms and virtual tutoring tools, and I prefer teaching in an online environment. I’m comfortable using video calls, interactive whiteboards, screen sharing, and chat features to explain concepts clearly and keep students engaged. My preferred method of communication is live online sessions combined with messaging for questions and follow-ups, as this allows for clear explanations and flexible support.
I am particularly skilled in teaching **arithmetic, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus**. I focus on building strong foundational understanding while helping students see connections between topics and apply concepts confidently to problem solving. To stay up to date with curriculum changes, I regularly review syllabus updates, use current textbooks and online educational resources, and incorporate new teaching strategies and practice materials that align with modern standards.

Yes, I provide additional resources to support and reinforce learning. These include extra practice exercises, worksheets, step-by-step examples, and recommended online tutorials or videos. I tailor these materials to each student’s level and needs so they can practice independently and strengthen their understanding outside of lessons.
My approach to homework is to use it as a tool for reinforcement, not overload. I assign focused practice that reflects what was covered in class and review it with students to address mistakes and misconceptions. To ensure understanding, I ask students to explain their reasoning, provide feedback, and revisit challenging concepts using examples and guided practice until they are confident.
I take time to understand each student’s learning style, strengths, and challenges. I adapt my teaching by using a mix of visual explanations, step-by-step instruction, discussion, and practice activities. I also adjust pacing and methods based on feedback and performance, ensuring lessons are personalized and effective for the student.
I do not currently have direct experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs. However, I am patient, flexible, and open to learning, and I adapt my teaching by simplifying explanations, breaking concepts into smaller steps, and adjusting pace as needed. I am also willing to follow guidance from parents or educators to better support each student’s learning needs.
