Questions for You

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Math concepts and solve problems?

I break problems down into manageable steps to make it easier to grasp. I also encourage students to talk through their thinking, which helps identify gaps and strengthen their problem-solving skills.

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

Yes, I have experience with online teaching platforms and virtual tutoring. I’m comfortable using tools like Zoom. My preferred method of communication is through email and WhatsApp.

Q: What Math topics or concepts are you particularly skilled in teaching, and how do you keep up to date with changes in the curriculum?

I’m particularly skilled in teaching core high school Maths topics such as algebra, functions, calculus, trigonometry, and geometry. To stay up to date with curriculum changes, I regularly review the latest CAPS documents, past exam papers, and teaching resources.

Q: How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and any challenges they may be facing in learning Math?

I provide feedback through WhatsApp, or brief calls. If challenges arise, I discuss them with the parent and suggest strategies for support.

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials to supplement your lessons, such as practice exercises or online tutorials?

No I don't have those yet.

Q: What is your approach to homework assignments, and how do you ensure students understand the concepts covered in class?

I view homework as a tool to reinforce understanding, not just complete tasks. I ensure the student understands the concept by walking through examples together and encouraging questions.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure that your teaching approach is compatible with the student's learning style?

I start by getting to know how each student learns best— I then adapt my teaching to match their style..

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, and how do you adapt your teaching methods to accommodate their needs?

I don’t have direct experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, but I am open-minded, patient, and eager to learn how to support all learners.
