Questions for You

Q: What is your experience with students who struggle with Biological Science, and how do you help them improve?

I start by assessing what students need, and which lessons they could have gaps in. I fill in the gaps, and build on knowledge. I also believe in practicing, and in refreshing knowledge so as not to forget easily. Aside from the subject matter, I find it important for students to learn about how their brain works, and also how everyone struggles at times.

Q: What is your success rate with past students who have taken Biological Science exams after working with you?

I have taught in classrooms, and students have passed their exams.

Q: How do you make Biological Science lessons engaging and interesting for students?

I make Science interesting by being hands-on, and by using technology.

Q: How do you teach students to apply Biological Science concepts to real-world situations?

Biology is everywhere! Biology is easily connected to everyone's daily lives. I help students apply biological concepts by relating them to real-world contexts such as health, nutrition, and the natural environment. Through examples, case studies, and inquiry-based activities, students learn to see biology not as abstract information but as a way to understand how living systems—including their own bodies—function and interact with the world around them.

Q: How do you incorporate current research and scientific advancements into your lessons for Biological Science?

It is important to incorporate research and scientific advancements especially in the field of Biology. There are often articles that we can use to supplement our learning. Furthermore, I believe that as a tutor, it is important to keep learning and updated with new learning.

Q: How do you teach students to write lab reports and scientific papers for Biological Science?

I believe that lab reports and scientific papers take time. A good start is half the work done. Therefore, I will guide students into starting early, and creating drafts and revising them.

Q: What is your approach to teaching students about the ethical implications of Biological Science research and experimentation?

I encourage students to think critically about how scientific discoveries and experiments affect both people and the environment. My approach involves guiding discussions on real-world examples—such as genetics, biotechnology, and conservation—to help students weigh benefits and ethical concerns. I foster open-minded dialogue where students learn to respect different perspectives and understand the responsibility that comes with scientific knowledge.

Q: Can you discuss your experience with helping students prepare for science fairs or research competitions?

I would be very much excited to prepare for a scinece fair or a research competition.
