I specialize in teaching for beginner Japanese exams such as IGCSE Jpaanese or N5/N4 Level JLPT Exams
I use a variety of resources including recognised textbooks for a specified curriculum as well as my own notes.
I assign textbook as well as outside materials for students homework. Ensuring that upon completion their understadning of the topic learned will have improved, and when faced with difficulties towards the homework, I will break it down and explain how to answer similar type questions.
I speak in both English as well as Japanese to help students associate words quicker and have a smoother transition into Japanese as a secondary language.
I teach the nuances of Japanese culture within my lessons improvising so that it fits the specific curriculum. Highlighting to my students the importance of the Japanese cultures and customs that can be found within the language
Learning grammar especially in Japanese can be annoyingly tricky, however there are ways which I improvise into my teaching to help ease the difficulties in learning Japanese grammar
Speaking and listening is an important thing within any language, as such I also focus on getting my students to read texts as well as ask them to translate said text to me.
Building vocabulary can be particularly difficult when learning a new language especially when it comes to Japanese having 3 systems of writing. As such, I provide students with a collated list of specific vocabulary and their forms at the end of every lesson and will conduct a test at the beginning of every lesson on said list.
Many students often face challenges when ti comes to their pronunciation or intonation of certain words. To counter this, I will often break down those words into manageable syllables and work our way up from there. Through repetition and more speaking practice, my students will improve their pronunciation skills.
