Hello, I’m Kai. I was born and raised in London, but my roots are in Hong Kong — both my parents grew up here. I bring the best of both worlds: a deep connection to Hong Kong and a native British accent (Received Pronunciation, or “BBC English”) that provides learners with a clear, authentic model of English.
My educational background shaped who I am as a tutor. I studied at Westminster School, one of the UK’s top secondary schools, before completing my degree at the London School of Economics (LSE). I understand how to think critically and express ideas clearly in English. Now, I share those skills with students here in Hong Kong.
Over the years, I’ve worked with learners of all ages and levels. Some come to me for help with HKDSE, IGCSE, IB, or IELTS exams; others want to polish their business English for international workplaces; and many simply want to feel more confident speaking and writing in everyday life.
What students often appreciate most is my focus on confidence-building. Many learners know the rules of English but hesitate to use them out loud. I create a supportive, encouraging space where mistakes are part of the process, not something to be afraid of.
Being based in Tai Wai makes me accessible to families across Hong Kong from the New Territories to Kowloon.
What sets me apart is the combination of a world-class British education, a neutral RP accent, and an understanding of both Western and Hong Kong perspectives. I know how demanding the local education system can be, but I also know the English standards that, when met, can open doors abroad. My role is to help you bridge the two.
If you’re looking for an English tutor who is approachable, professional, and passionate about helping students grow, I’d be delighted to work with you. Please feel free to reach out for a chat. Read less
