My daughter has been studying Spanish for more than 4 months. Haydee is a very patient and friendly teacher who explains Spanish very clearly. Her lessons are well structured, which helps build a strong foundation. The activities she uses are both educational and engaging, and they help my daughter develop Spanish skills in a well-rounded way. She has especially improved her listening skills through her speaking and listening exercises. Haydee creates a comfortable learning environment, which makes it easier to ask questions and stay motivated. My daughter really enjoys her lessons and feels more confident in Spanish.
Haydee is very nice, reliable, responsible and genuinely cares about her students. Haydee knows the IB Spanish Ab Initio syllabus well and has really helped Ethan progress. Very grateful to Haydee !!
I usually work with teenagers and young adult students, especially those between 14 and 18 years old who are preparing for IB Spanish Ab Initio or need academic support. I also have experience adapting lessons to different learning styles and levels within this age group.
I plan my lessons by combining structured grammar instruction with targeted practice using IB past papers. This allows students to strengthen foundational skills while becoming familiar with the exam format and expectations. I also adapt each lesson to the student’s current level and specific areas that need reinforcement.
I measure progress through a combination of continuous assessment and targeted skill checks. This includes regular practice with IB-style tasks, short grammar and vocabulary assessments, and periodic reviews using past papers to track improvement in all exam components. I also evaluate students’ written and oral production over time to ensure they are meeting IB learning outcomes and developing confidence in real communication.
I provide homework and additional assignments for students who need or request extra practice outside of class. These tasks are tailored to their goals—whether grammar reinforcement, vocabulary building, or preparing for specific IB Ab Initio exam components. I review all submitted work carefully and provide clear, constructive feedback, highlighting strengths and offering specific guidance on how to improve in future tasks.
For online sessions, I use a combination of interactive tools and IB-focused resources. I work with digital whiteboards, shared documents, and slides to explain grammar and guide practice in real time. I also use IB past papers, exam-style tasks, and curated online activities that help reinforce vocabulary and communication skills. These tools allow lessons to be engaging, clear, and well-structured, while giving students the opportunity to practice exactly what they will encounter in the IB exam.
Yes, I provide additional support outside of scheduled lesson times. I share my phone number with my students so they can contact me via WhatsApp, WeChat, or email whenever they have questions or need clarification. I’m always happy to offer quick guidance between lessons to help them stay on track and feel supported.
Yes. I focus on building confidence little by little by setting achievable goals and celebrating progress, even small improvements. I also personalize activities to match the student’s interests and learning style, which helps make the content more engaging. For students who are struggling, I break down difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps and use plenty of guided practice. I also maintain open communication so students feel supported and comfortable expressing when something is confusing, which helps keep them motivated and involved.
Unfortunately, I do not have direct experience working with students with learning differences or special needs. However, I am open to learning and adapting my teaching strategies to better support all students as needed.
