Roberta is an amazing tutor, she is very friendly and patiently answered all my questions. She really puts a lot of effort into each session, like writing out summaries customised to my needs, repeatedly going over the same topic whenever I need it, ect. She also puts complex topics into simpler terms, so that it is really easy to understand even hard topics quickly. Overall I think she's truly amazing, especially if you need someone to give you a very effective 'crash course' for a number of topics.

Questions for You

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Math concepts and solve problems?

Methods are highly personalized based on individual needs

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

In person is always best, however videochats can be helpful, most helpful when screen-sharing is used

Q: What Math topics or concepts are you particularly skilled in teaching, and how do you keep up to date with changes in the curriculum?

As a previous maths professor I can help with any mathematics/physics classes at college level (for degrees such as math, physics, econometrics, business, etc) e.g.: Calculus, Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Analysis, Statistics, Probability, Financial Mathematics, Game theory, Classical mechanics, Dynamical systems, etc Can also help with corresponding higher level highschool classes. I can also offer help preparing for math tests and even competitions.

Q: How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and any challenges they may be facing in learning Math?

I work with mature students (mostly college level) on advanced topics. The students are expected to be motivated enough to communicate openly and directly. If the student is not sufficiently communicative or motivated, and the parents are involved, I will promptly let the parents know.

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials to supplement your lessons, such as practice exercises or online tutorials?

The lessons are 1-1; all material produced during the bespoke lesson will be made available to the student for further study.

Q: What is your approach to homework assignments, and how do you ensure students understand the concepts covered in class?

I can provide extra exercises on request.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure that your teaching approach is compatible with the student's learning style?

I frequently ask the student to attempt solving a problem similar to one we recently discussed. This immediately uncovers problems and allows me to attempt different explanations and methods. Ultimately, the best method is the one that works.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, and how do you adapt your teaching methods to accommodate their needs?

No
