My name is Kamogelo Hopane, and I hold a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Mathematics played a major role in my academic journey, and I achieved a distinction in Mathematics in high school in 2021. In 2022, I was awarded the 2nd position in the Mogalakwena District, an achievement that contributed to my admission to UCT, which is ranked as the number one university in Africa.

I am currently working as a Junior Engineer specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, based in and around Sandton. I offer online tutoring, preferably via Microsoft Teams, but I am also open to one-on-one sessions if you are able to travel to my office apartment.

My tutoring approach is results-driven and exam-focused. I prioritize helping students pass and excel in exams rather than spending time on unnecessary theory. My lessons consist of approximately 20% theory and background understanding, and 80% question paper practice. I strongly encourage active participation; students are expected to engage, attempt questions, and solve problems, not just observe.

As an engineer, I believe in practical learning. Solving problems hands-on is far more effective in building understanding and long-term memory than passive learning. My goal is to help students gain confidence, improve problem-solving skills, and achieve strong academic results. Read less
