The goal is to help students become confident writers who can organise their ideas clearly and communicate effectively. I begin by strengthening the core language skills that support writing, such as vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and spelling. Students need these building blocks before they can write fluently. Activities may include sentence-building exercises, word banks, and short grammar tasks that reinforce correct language use. I use a “model–teach–practice” approach. I first demonstrate how to write a specific type of text (for example, a narrative, paragraph, or essay). This includes showing learners how to plan their ideas, structure an introduction, body, and conclusion, and use descriptive language and varied sentence structures. By analysing examples together, learners see what effective writing looks like. Students are taught how to organise their thoughts using planning tools such as mind maps, graphic organisers, and paragraph frames. This step helps learners structure their ideas logically before they begin writing. I gradually move from guided writing to independent writing. Initially, students may write with prompts, sentence starters, or structured templates. As their confidence improves, they begin writing more independently.
