Hi, I’m Jakym, a second-year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Cape Town with a strong passion for Maths and Science. I achieved an 84% average in matric and have continued to perform well at university with an overall average of 82.8%, including 100% for Mathematics, 93% for Statistics, and 85% for Chemistry.

I have experience teaching both primary school and high school students. I have tutored Mathematics from primary level up to matric, as well as assisted high school learners with Life Sciences. This range of experience has helped me adapt my teaching style to suit different age groups and learning needs.

My approach is patient, structured, and focused on building a strong understanding of concepts rather than memorisation. I aim to break down difficult topics into simple, manageable steps while creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.

Outside of academics, I have developed strong communication and leadership skills through tutoring, working in hospitality, and involvement in sports and student leadership. These experiences help me connect well with students and explain concepts clearly.
