Hello everyone, my name is Richard P. Bayog from the "Pearl of the Orient Seas," which is the Philippines. It is my pleasure and honor to be a part of this online job. I am currently working abroad as a Homeroom Kindergarten Teacher for more than 5 years. Working abroad is stepping out of my comfort zone. It is taking a leap of a thousand miles without knowing what awaits you in the future. Living in a foreign country with different cultures and norms requires a lot of flexibility. However, showing smiles and respect to people you have just met is a universal language that allows you to connect with them, regardless of your status, race, and citizenship. I am pursuing my Master's Degree at UoPeople (an American-based institution) because I believe it will provide me with knowledge and expand my teaching abilities. "Teaching is my true calling career," and pursuing my studies from a Bachelor of Elementary Education to a Master's Degree is a great privilege for my next journey. I used the learner-centered method. In learner-centered methods, the teacher/instructor is both a teacher and a learner at the same time. In the words of Lawrence Stenhouse, the teacher plays a dual role as a learner as well, "so that in their classroom, their intellectual horizons are expanded rather than limited." The teacher also learns new things every day which they didn't know in the process of teaching. The teacher "becomes a resource rather than an authority." Read less
