I am Ca Robertson, a former International School teacher and convener of University conversation classes. For over 15 years, I have been teaching adults and children who want to improve their English for general, academic, and business purposes. My specialties include exam preparation for IELTS, TOEFL, and university/high school entry exams such as 11+ and 13+. Current and former students include business professionals, university professors, adults looking to improve their basic English, and students from top local and international schools. I have an MEd in Teaching English from Oxford Brookes University and an MA in Religious Studies and Spanish from the University of Glasgow.

Passionate English teacher with 22 years of experience in local and international schools in Hong Kong. My aim is to prepare children to soar with confidence and discover their full potential. I listen attentively to each child to understand the emotions behind certain behaviors and encourage open dialogue to reassure them that their concerns and thoughts are valued. I use discretion in sharing relevant information with parents, respecting each child’s need for privacy and confidentiality. Together with the student, I explore options, develop strategies, and build self-awareness to overcome academic barriers, fostering confidence and independence. After each lesson, I send written reports to parents to ensure we work collaboratively in the best interests of the child. Please note my Sabbath rest: Saturday 12 pm to Monday 12 pm. Hello! My name is Dione, but most people who know me call me Dee. I am currently based in Southern Thailand, in Phuket. I have been working in the field of education for 10 years and like to think that I have an energetic teaching style. During this time, I have worked with students and learners of various ages, utilizing a wide range of modern teaching methods. I am a TEFL-certified teacher and an English writing skills tutor, so I am also happy to help those studying any humanities subjects with their assignments. I believe in flexible teaching, which means that the atmosphere for learning is relatively relaxed. This doesn’t mean that I want you sleeping in class, but I do want you to feel comfortable asking questions and speaking freely within the level of English you understand. I have also worked in the UK, teaching English to students with various disabilities and learning difficulties, as I specialize in SEN (Special Educational Needs) education. For the past three years, I have focused more on teaching English as a Foreign Language. I believe in making lessons enjoyable, and I almost always require some form of spoken English at any level. I encourage you to communicate with me in whatever way you can. To do this effectively, you’ll need to tell me what you are comfortable saying, and together we can build from there. There will be references to e-books, which will be accessible through Google Classroom, and assignments will be given from these resources for additional support, in both free and paid lessons. As a traveling teacher, I will inform students and learners at least one month in advance of any planned movements, to ease any transitions or breaks in studying. In-person lessons are possible, but I recommend sticking to online lessons for consistency, as I may need to travel to cities that are near or far from you.

Having graduated in Psychology from University College London and studied at Diocesan Boys' School (DBS), I have been immersed in native English-speaking environments since birth. My English language capabilities are best illustrated by my IELTS examination results, where I achieved a score of 8/9, with full marks in both reading comprehension and listening. I and my team of tutors have been tutoring English for over 5 years, developing and delivering classes on reading comprehension, vocabulary, oral/presentation skills, grammar, and essay writing. I am also experienced in teaching IELTS. My strongest asset as a tutor is my experience working with diverse students.
