Hi! My name is Dr. Benjamin Horn. I hold a PhD in Creative Media, specifically with a focus on narrative design for interactive media. I have worked as Chief Writer for one of Hong Kong's top game studios, and I would love to share my knowledge on writing in English with you! I was born in England but raised in the USA, so I have familiarity with both spoken English and American dialects. I attended the University of Pennsylvania for my Bachelors and studied English Literature and Political Science. Greetings to whoever reads this! I teach Mathematics, Science, English, History, and Literature. I am currently living in Quezon City, Metro Manila. I had learning difficulties growing up, which makes me more empathetic and understanding towards students. I can provide my students with a healthy and comfortable environment to study and learn, especially neurodivergent students who are very much welcome and accommodated in my classes. I believe that my teaching is effective as I have helped many struggling students improve their academic performance and have even had students who competed and won numerous academic competitions in the past.

My lifelong English journey started with being a research subject and later an intern at CUHK's Bilingualism Research Center. Imbued with a passion for English, I delved deeper into the art both at school (IGCSE and IB) and outside school (various writing competitions and MUN conferences). Despite my proclamations of loving English to bits, I have to say I'm a freshman at HKU Med. The discrepancy is a little odd, I'll admit and explain. This English tutoring job allows me to further my interest in English and spread this enthusiasm to my students! If that isn't enough to evidence my passion, sorry, I don't know what will. Let me quell some other potential doubts about my expertise and experience. Throughout high school, I've consistently been on top of my English class, and subsequently helped a lot of my peers. Of course, I do have proper work experience - I am currently tutoring lovely primary children, for both SSAT and mastery of the English language in general.
