Background: As an experienced and dedicated tutor, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion for facilitating effective learning experiences. I have 2.5 years of hands-on experience working with diverse learners. My teaching style is characterized by a student-centric approach, tailored to individual needs and learning preferences. I am Tutor Wen Choong, with a Master's degree in Engineering Science from Monash University, majoring in Process Optimization, and a recipient of the Monash University Merit Scholarship for Postgraduate Research. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Taylor's University, where I achieved a CGPA of 3.80 out of 4.00 and received the Dean's List Award for 6 consecutive semesters. I scored 8As in the SPM examinations and obtained a CGPA of 3.84 for my Foundation in Science studies. I have over 10 years of teaching experience, tutoring students in the Cambridge IGCSE, Edexcel, IB, and A Level syllabuses. As part of my postgraduate studies, I have been working as a teaching assistant, conducting tutorial classes and preparing and evaluating assessments for Chemical Engineering degree students. I am able to provide tutoring for Math, Additional Math, Further Math, Pure Math, Calculus, and Statistics.

I am a Durban-based tutor specializing in Maths, Science and CAT. My lessons are creatively tailor-made for each student I tutor. I switch teaching methods depending on the student and always have a way to incorporate learning with fun and real-life application. If students understand logic behind numbers & knows where these ideas are used, they are likely to enjoy the lesson and excel academically without much effort - that is where I come in. My SUPER-POWER is that there is, relatively, little age gap between me and most of my students. This means that they are comfortable around me and I'm able to convey information in a way they quickly understand.

I make the teaching experience interesting by conducting discussions and quizzes to have a better understanding of how much the student has imbibed and what we need to work on. I work according to a planned schedule, ensuring that the syllabus is completed on time and providing ample time for revision. This helps students work without feeling pressured.

I will teach mathematics for primary students in a way that is interesting but still helpful. There will be a lot of educational games as I go through the student's curriculum. I will ensure that the student fully understands the lesson before I leave. We will keep in contact on WhatsApp. (Note that I am still in middle school).

I like to challenge my students while also allowing them to learn and improve as they learn with me.

Currently, I am an ECE major at HKUST. I passed my IGCSE exams back in 2019 with Grade-9 in 9 subjects, and I also successfully completed my International A-Level Exams in 2021 with 4A*s. Additionally, I have previous experience in teaching several IGCSE and International A-Level students in Dhaka. Lastly, I strive to minimise stress and make learning a more enjoyable experience for my students. I specialize in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
