Hi, I am Gabrielle! I am an Actuarial and Applied Maths graduate student from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. I pursued my associate degree in Actuarial Science at Macquarie University afterward, and now I have been working full time in the actuarial industry for almost 5 years. I love teaching and want to continue helping students enjoy Mathematics :) Mathematics has been one of my favorite subjects since high school, and that's the reason why I am still excited to tutor in my spare time. I want to help students reach their best potential in Maths. When I was in junior high school, I started to give lessons to a few of my friends in various subjects such as Science, Math, and Mandarin. It was the first step for me towards realizing that I love teaching. After I graduated from junior high school, I looked for a more challenging job, which was being a tutor outside the school environment. For two years, I taught students in general subjects but mostly in Mathematics. I got an opportunity after I graduated from senior high school to be an Assistant Teacher in one of the schools in my hometown. I was excited about that, so I took that job during my holiday months. I was responsible for grades 10, 11, and 12 as a Maths Assistant Teacher, and it was such an incredibly amazing experience for me. I graduated with a GPA of 9.3 from the UNSW Foundation Studies Program. I was a finalist in the Mathematics Olympiad Science National in 2009. I was also a finalist in the Astronomy Olympiad Science National in 2011.

I teach Pre-Primary (English, Math, and Tamil), Primary (English, Math, Science, and Tamil), Secondary (English, E/A Math, P Bio/Chem/Phy/Geog, and Combined Science (Phy/Bio/Chem). I am able to start immediately and commit long-term. I only teach online tuition. I am a very flexible tutor and will tailor a study method that ensures results. I am also very experienced. Currently, I have been teaching four students. One P3 student in Science has improved from a fail to receiving 13.5/20 and shows more improvement in recent assessments. One P3 student in Math and English (the child has been diagnosed with ADHD recently) shows slow but noticeable improvements in knowledge and answering ability. I also teach one Sec3 student Math, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. The student has consistently good results for all subjects. I am teaching an adult basic conversational Tamil, and she has been learning fairly quickly and is able to facilitate short conversations over a period of a few weeks. In 2021, I taught one P2 student English and Math. She showed consistent results. I also taught a Sec2 student English, Science, Math, and Tamil. He managed to maintain As in most of the subjects tutored. In 2020, I taught one P1 student English, Math, and Tamil. She became very confident and managed to score well during all her assessments. I also taught a Sec1 student English and Science. He was able to improve from failing his mid-term assessments. Prior to that, I have experience tutoring family friends and relatives informally during my formative years.

Hey there! My name is Holly! I am a student at the University of Toronto pursuing a B.Sc. and a Masters of Teaching. My B.Sc. specializes in mathematics, human geography, and education. I have been tutoring awesome kids since I was in grade 10 and have a long history of experience with children. This includes ski and snowboard instructing, swim instructing, gymnastics coaching, and being a camp counselor.
