Hi! I am a recent IB graduate, willing to teach IB English, Biology, Mathematics, and Economics. As a native English speaker, I am also able to tutor for English language exams and am also able to teach conversational French. I have had experience in teaching primary and middle school students in both the local and international curriculum.

My name is Joanita and I am passionate about teaching English. English is not just about learning vocabulary or grammar or sentence structure. It’s about the application of these technicalities into the expression of your ideas and thoughts. In my lessons I try to minimise the technicalities as it becomes dull and boring, however I emphasize the need for it as it’s the basis on which the language is structured. While teaching English online I have used Power Point presentations and other innovative applications such as Padlet, Quizlet, Socrative & Kahoot to make learning fun and interactive. I believe learning is an exchange. There were times when I have learnt a thing or two from my students and I cannot but treasure those Eureka moments when my students have felt they could contribute to the lesson with their own ideas such as using Google docs to share documents or any other innovative learning platform.

I love to teach kids from pre-school to elementary since I have also a son schooling. English will be my main subject to teach. Currently, I am in Ontario Canada.

P5 Math - an improvement from 70% to 89% from WA1 to WA3 within 5 months. Marks have been maintained at above 80% since. P4 Math - an improvement of 19% in 12 lessons from AL6 at 54% to AL5 at 73%. P3 Math (Student with Dyscalculia) - an improvement of 31% in 3 months from AL6 at 45% to AL4 at 76%. P3 EL (Student with Global Developmental Delay) - an improvement of 60% in 2 months. Student made great progress from being unable to write a composition to successfully completing an entire composition by himself with a score of 60%.
