Hello, my name is Alice. I am an Australian born Chinese. I have been residing in Hong Kong since 2011. I am a Master graduate with a major in Art and professional practice. During my study, I have been teaching exchange students from overseas privately. Mainly focusing on day-to-day conversations (which is my best area), oral exam preparations, listening and creative writing. A lot of students are very good in writing and listening because schools have trained them to be able to read and write during exams. But when it comes to speaking, kids usually have a lack in confidence, so I have been teaching them how to speak confidently and to conquer their shyness in front of native speakers. I'm a passionate teacher. The main subject I teach is English. I grew up in Thailand, Australia and the UK, this gives me an advantage in communications as I'm well versed in both Thai and English as well as a cultural insight in different types of English. My ability to also speak Thai will exelerate in the teaching process of the student, of course the main language used will be English for familiarity purposes. How do I teach? I believe it's important to get to know students, understand how they learn and in turn allow them to absorb knowledge in a way that works for them. Making the learning process something educational and enjoyable at the same time by incorporating creative exercises and tests that relate to the subject at hand. I take a very open approach to learning, being a very creative and enthusiastic learner myself, I can empathise with the boredom of repetitive routine work which is why I'd like the chance to be able teach students how to enjoy learning instead of being something they are forced to do.
