Hi, I'm from a small community and have always enjoyed helping others. I grew up playing hockey and I was a part of the 4H club, where I would show cattle at the local fair. I graduated from Algonquin College (Advanced Accounting Diploma) and the University of Athabasca (Business Degree). I have experience tutoring Math from Grade 1 to Grade 11. I also have teaching experience in Adult Education where I worked in the Senior Accounting program. I love teaching and working with people to help them achieve their success. I did my degree all Online and was fortunate enough to have great help along the way. Having moved to Hong Kong from Ireland with my foreign wife over 10 years ago, I am fluent in English (near-native proficiency; IELTS score: 8.5/9, with a reading score of 9, an oral score of 8.5, and writing and listening scores of 8.5) as well as Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne, where I took courses in computation, game theory, data analysis, and more. I also obtained a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Victoria University of Technology in Australia, with a dissertation focusing on game theory. I have been tutoring students in English, mathematics, and coding since my return to Hong Kong in 2019. In mathematics tutoring, I teach general mathematics, additional mathematics, and pure mathematics from Primary 4 to Senior 6 in the DSE curriculum and from Year 4 to Year 11 in the IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes. I am especially familiar with the IGCSE and IB Diploma curricula, as my son studied under these programs in Northern Ireland, and my wife is an English teacher. I have successfully assisted students in achieving their academic goals, including helping a Primary 6 (Band 3) student gain admission to Malvern College, assisting a Form 1 student to progress to Form 2 at Diocesan Boys’ School, and supporting a Form 6 student who initially struggled with English to improve their DSE English score from 2 to 3. Currently, my students come from various international and local schools, including Malvern College, Choi Kai Yau College, Yew Chung College, Po Chui College, and St. Francis Primary School. I tailor my teaching approach to suit the individual needs of each student, and I recently completed a diploma in Introduction to Teaching English as a Second Language from Alison Corp.

I specialize in teaching math, chemistry, and biology for IGCSE, IB Diploma, and AP exams. I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Master's Degree in Biochemistry. My lessons will focus on strategies to target specific topics, exam success with an emphasis on approaching questions, and stretching thoughts to achieve higher grades. Many of my students have shown significant improvement on tests after a few months of tutoring. Currently, I am teaching students from HKIS, AIS, CDNIS, VSA, West Island School, and Discovery College.

I have more than 35 years of experience teaching, mentoring, and tutoring students and adult learners. I graduated in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Cape Town in 1988. I have an Honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Stellenbosch (1997). I also hold a postgraduate certificate in Project Management from the University of South Africa (2012).

I am an upcoming graduate student in Hong Kong. I am set to graduate with First Class Honours in BSc Biochemistry and Cell Biology from HKUST (The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). For further education, I am currently deciding between two offers: an MSc by Research at the University of Oxford, UK, and a direct-entry PhD at HKU (The University of Hong Kong). I also have previous teaching experience through one-on-one private HKDSE Maths tutoring. I aim to provide strong support to students who need extra help understanding how to secure marks in exams, or who are struggling with the concepts taught in these courses.

Hi! My name is Helen and I'm currently a freshman studying Chemical Engineering with minors in Business and Health Policy at Cornell University. I graduated from Chinese International School in May 2024, so I have first-hand experience studying in an international school in Hong Kong. As I am currently in Ithaca, NY, all my lessons will be online. I enjoy teaching math for grades 6 through 10 and SAT, and believe I am proficient in breaking down questions into manageable parts to ensure my students understand everything thoroughly.
