I am Avin, a scholarship student at the University of Hong Kong, studying Science. I teach Mathematics and Sciences(Biology, Chemisry and Physics) at all levels within most secondary qualifications. I am based in Pok Fu Lam, but I am happy to go anywhere to help a student in need!

I focus on developing an intrinsic passion for the subjects I teach, helping the students develop their own unique reasoning to solve tricky, unexpected problems they may face in the exam. I am patient, and wouldn't impose a specific method on students, encouraging them to develop methods that they feel comfortable with(its already so hard to study a subject you struggle with, I hope to make it easier).

As a student myself, I can find I can relate to fellow students better and indentify and satisfy their problems which arent fully addressed through school. This means I am much more efficent at helping students overcome problems when they study. Read less

Firstly, I would ask the student to solve an easy problem related to the subject discussed: and use that to assess their method of thinking. Afterwards, I will ask them to attempt a difficult problem, and observe where they go wrong. I would then either introduce a method to solve a problem that they may understand better, or help them understand correct reasoning in ther own unique way. This process will involve the student acctively engaging in the content through personalised methods. Read less
