Hi, my name is Randal. I am currently a final year student at HKUST. I mainly tutor English(ages 7-18), maths( ages 7-17) and college entrance exams. This includes APs, SATs, and IELTS. Through my multiple years of tutoring, I have been able to develop the skills that are required to provide my students with the best learning environment possible. I believe that every student has different needs, and my responsibility is to cater to those needs. I am an extremely patient tutor, and am always prepared for my students. In my lessons, we will engage in activities, games, watch videos, or listen to music to expose you to as much English as possible, just like in the real world. I can work with students online or in face-to-face settings. I use the PPP structure to prepare most of my lessons, which makes learning English easier. Examples are presented to the students first, then a practice session, and finally a production session where students work in groups, pairs, or independently to use English in integrated skills. Using the PPP structure maximizes the students' use of all necessary skills: speaking, listening, writing, reading, critical thinking, teamwork, autonomy, and vocabulary. As a graduate student in TESOL, I have developed my own assessments, tests, exams, and rubrics to supplement my students' learning based on what research has shown to be most effective.
