Born and raised in Hong Kong, I attended DGS until 9th grade and then moved to Boston to attend a private prep school. During my high school years, I assisted teachers during after-school programs at a local elementary school. I also taught ESL English at the Chinatown community center. At Columbia University, I studied Art History and Psychology which allowed me to further hone my critical reading and writing skills. I continued to tutor elementary and middle school kids in English and other subjects during my Columbia career. I taught in Japan for four years, and now I teach Chinese and Japanese students remotely from my home in France. In our lessons, we will talk about any topics that interest you--your hobbies, your likes and dislikes, daily life, life in America/France, current events, etc. We can read news articles together and discuss them. We can read and discuss the lyrics to English songs that you like. I will help you express your thoughts in English, and, if you would like to me to, I will take notes so that you can focus solely on speaking and listening. I will send you the notes after class so that you can practice saying the new words and phrases you have learned.
