Hi, I am a passionate English tutor with experience in teaching beginners to intermediate students. I am willing to travel anywhere within my country of residence and can also provide online learning.

I hold a Master's Degree in Architecture and I practice the profession, with a base in Kwazulu Natal (Pietermaritzburg) and the Eastern Cape (King William's Town). I am also a certified TEFL teacher with specialties in Business English, Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and IELTS exam preparation. I am currently learning French and German for the purpose of further studies in the engineering fields. Being a language student myself, I am convinced of the importance of the relationship between language acquisition and academic (and even professional) endeavors as a necessary component for successful career pathing in our contemporary globalized and increasingly globalizing world. Given my academic and career background in English and Architecture, I am equipped to teach Architecture to undergraduates and postgraduates who are either English proficient learners or speakers of English as a foreign language. For speakers of English as a foreign language, I am able to integrate the teaching of language with the teaching of content. I prefer online tutoring, although I am able to do in-person lessons upon request. My teaching approach is rigorous, yet stimulating engagements with content, always with the intention to inspire and equip learners for the real world of business and academia. Subjects I tutor are architectural coursework subjects for undergraduate and postgraduate learners, and research subjects for dissertations. For professionals in the construction industry, I tutor Business English on subjects such as the law of contracts, project management, architectural office practice, sustainability in construction, etc. I look forward to engaging with you as we embark on a journey of learning and growth together!

I graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts degree (First Class Honours) in English Education and German. I am a cheerful, smiley, and enthusiastic teacher who excels at teaching students with special learning needs. I am skilled in using songs, games, stories, and mini-dramas to teach language in a gradual and structured manner. Singing is both my expertise and my hobby. I meticulously tailor language courses for each student, assisting them in preparing for international language exams such as CEFR, TOEFL, IELTS, IB English, A-Levels, and others. I have a strong academic background, with a Professional Development Course in Dyslexia and Learning English from the University of Oxford, and a Post Graduate Diploma in TESOL/TEFL from the Asian College of Teachers in Bangkok. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Science, which has further contributed to my versatile approach to education. Throughout my career, I have gained significant teaching experience in both Thailand and Myanmar. I worked at a Thai Government High School in Nan and spent eight years teaching at an international school in Myanmar. These diverse experiences have enriched my understanding of education and equipped me with a global perspective on effective teaching practices.

I have been teaching English in Thailand for almost 20 years, to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced, and ages 3 to 68. Currently, I am living in Chonburi, but I have extensive experience in teaching online, including both one-on-one and group classes with up to 50 university students. This was a necessity during the height of COVID. Online teaching allows people from all over Thailand to study with me, regardless of their location. I particularly enjoy teaching higher levels, such as IELTS and TOEIC, but my flexibility allows me to teach students at all levels. With a business background, I have found it helpful when teaching at numerous major companies in Thailand. I have a deep passion for my job, and one of my biggest motivations is guiding my students to the next level. Throughout my teaching career, I have had students from various nationalities, although 95% of them have been Thai. This has allowed me to focus on helping Thai students overcome common errors they encounter. In summary, I specialize in teaching Thai students. My teaching style is laid-back, which works well with Thai students. However, it does not deter me from my goal of propelling my students to a new and higher level.

I have been living in Australia for 10 years and have over 5 years of experience in an English-speaking professional working environment. I hold an IELTS score of 8.0 (equivalent to DSE 5*-5**) and have developed strong communication skills through my role as a Senior Investment Analyst at the Australian National University.

An English language teacher will teach one-on-one or in a group of up to 10 people. Fees are to be arranged.
