Hello. I'm Dr Lucy, an Emergency physician and IELTS coach from Sydney. I completed my medical degree in Sydney and have been working as a Doctor in the emergency and pediatric department for 6 years. My name is Jaydene and I am an English teacher with IELTS certification and Teaching certification for students with special needs I hold a PGD in early childhood education. I worked at a private institution teaching the IGCSE curriculum to learners from years 1 - 10, as well as adult students preparing for IELTS and SAT exams. I worked with a variety of students including special needs, and students of many ages and backgrounds. When doing lessons with me, students will soon understand my methods of teaching are in accordance with what I feel is better suited to them as an individual, I keep my lessons fun so that I keep my students involved and interested in my lessons. For my younger students, I will follow lessons custom-made to suit their individual needs. I involve some Montessori methods when teaching as I believe it is a wonderful way to keep young students interested and involved. We use whiteboards and colored markers, threading laces through letters and Playdough to make letters of the alphabet and so much more. With my Adult students who are preparing for IELTS or SAT exams or just wanting to learn English as a second language, we go through Modules that are custom designed for each student's needs that will include speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I will discuss my student's progress and where I feel they need to focus more in order to help them succeed in their goals.

Hi! I'm an American English teacher living in the south of France. I am TEFL certified and have 10 years of experience teaching English to both children and adults. I taught in Japan for four years, and now I teach Chinese and Japanese students remotely from my home in France. In our lessons, we will talk about any topics that interest you--your hobbies, your likes and dislikes, daily life, life in America/France, current events, etc. We can read news articles together and discuss them. We can read and discuss the lyrics to English songs that you like. I will help you express your thoughts in English, and, if you would like to me to, I will take notes so that you can focus solely on speaking and listening. I will send you the notes after class so that you can practice saying the new words and phrases you have learned. Here is a little background about me... I was born in Hong Kong, but grew up in the UK. I am a registered nurse in Hong Kong and a part-time English tutor in my spare time. I grew up in Surrey, England, from the age of 9 when my parents sent me to boarding school. After graduating from university, I worked at one of the busiest hospitals in London for 3 years. Two years ago, I relocated my life back to Hong Kong and have been teaching people who have the passion to further their English speaking skills. The Hong Kong education system is infamous for gruelling kids to do long hours of written exercise to learn English, but no room to practise speaking and listening skills- which compromise the basis of English communication. I believe the only way to improve English communication skills is through practice and more practice. Very often, students tend to shy away; afraid of making further mistakes. But in my class, I will encourage my students to make mistakes as I believe it is the only way to know one's strengths and areas that need improvement. During my class, students will be taught the basics of English at first; the correct promounciation of vowels, use of grammar and sentence structure of everyday English- these are the components of English fluency. Gradually, moving on to accent removal (in my class British English) to sound more native.

Having been abroad since young, English became my main language. This proficiency would help my students to succeed in the competitive environment and further improve language skills. I would help students improve to the fullest of their capabilities no matter what level they started off at. Promising to be both a tutor and a nice friend, I aim to deliver enjoyable classes and engage in chill practise converations. Achieving an overall 8 in IELTS (taken in the UK -believably harder than in Thailand), I also offer help to all students looking to take the exam. Other than teaching English, Math is my other area of expertise. Having completed the entire Kumon programme since the age of 15, I have a special liking for this subject area and am passionate in passing on my skills and knowledge. As a former peer tutor in secondary school, mentoring friends for IGCSE Mathematics, I went on to achieving Gold ranking for 2 Maths competitions in the UK.
